The Snowman returns to the Florissant Civic Center Theatre stage in December when Northwinds Concert Band, under the direction of Larry Marsh, will bring him to life through music from the touching animated film that has become an annual holiday treat in Britain.

The sixty-piece Northwinds ensemble has been playing concerts in the Florissant Civic Center Theatre for over thirty years, and the band will continue a proud annual tradition of bringing holiday cheer to the theatre when they present a "Hometown Holiday Concert" on Sunday, December 15 at 3:00 p.m.

Individual tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and students, Also offered is a special Immediate Family Ticket Package for $20.  Visit the Box Office or call 314-921-5678.

As always, this year's concert presents traditional favorites, including "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year," "Sleigh Ride," and Leroy Anderson's "Christmas Festival."  The ensemble also will feature new arrangements of Hanukkah tunes.

The band will thrill patrons with the delightfully scary tale of Krampus, who, in Eastern European tradition, accompanies St. Nick on his journey and doles out punishment to bad boys and girls.

Cortney Towns, the talented young soprano who wowed audiences at the City of Florissant Independence Day concert, will return to sing Giulio Caccini’s lovely version of “Ave Maria.”

Vocalist Ike Eichenberger will sing Irving Berlin’s timeless tune, ”White Christmas.”
